Traditionally, china or porcelain is supposed to be the gift given for 20 years of marriage – which is what Glenn and I hit today. I am going to skip the porcelain gift giving and take Glenn on a trip into the hills to spend the night with some alpacas and other fun critters instead. That is more our style.
It is hard to believe Glenn and I have been married for twenty years – it seems like our wedding was only yesterday…yet a lifetime ago, especially after all that has happened in 2020!
Glenn has almost always been in my life.
I met him 33 years ago when I was 15 years old. I was a high school sophomore who had just moved to a tiny mountain town in California where transplants weren’t welcomed and being the new kid in a school where everyone grew up together was exceedingly difficult for a shy person like myself.
Although we never dated in high school, he was there for many of my firsts…including my first date and the first time I got drunk! I wore his football jersey both my junior and senior year when I played on the “powderpuff” football team. He was always the sweet, funny, safe guy you could hang out with that made you feel welcomed and seen. He’s still that guy.
Today is his third day without a job, so we are officially off on our “pre-retirement/sabbatical/not sure what to call it” adventure. COVID and a few other life circumstances are limiting our ability to cut ourselves entirely free, but we are gearing up for some amazing things to come…even if we do not yet know what they will entail.
I created the video below for Glenn on our anniversary a few years ago. I made a few modifications and thought I’d share it with ya’ll here because it’s kinda fun. I love that it captures so many of our adventures over the past 20 years and makes me appreciate all the more that I get to spend my life with such an amazing friend and partner. Happy anniversary Glenn!

Congratulations!! Here’s to another 20 happy years together! xxxx
Thanks Diana!
Congratulations!!! I’m still thinking about your last posting-life is pretty slow here- but I see… you do live a charmed life. The neatest thing about it is that you seem to be enjoying every minute of it. Continue on. And thanks for sharing!!!
I was wondering if we could meet, at a distance😕somewhere between your home and mine. I live off of 219 half way between Newberg and Hillsboro.
Thanks! I’d love to get together!! Do you still have my email address?
Best video ever! Love you guys!
Thank you!
Happy Anniversary Michele & Glen. Wishing many more wonderful adventures together
Thanks Robyn!
